Where did you start with the hobby?
I've always been a Gamer. I got very bored watching my dad play an historical (English civil war iirc) game when I was about 7. I had the 40k release with the cardboard Ork dredd. Legend has it I was born clutching a D20. I've DM'd for 20ish years, and played rpg's since well before it was socially acceptable.
What is the biggest highlight in your time doing the hobby?
The Apocalypse games I've been a part of. Played in the right spirit, they've encompassed everything epic and awesome about collecting, painting, playing, and the friends involved.
Tabling Austin in the first round of last year's tournament. That game had been hyped to shit. We were both so nervous.
Winning the first doubles tournament with Ross.
Killing Simon's Great Unclean One in awesome style after he'd been a cock and a chump in equal measure all game.
Winning the Great Game with/for khorne on that same day.
Beating Austin's 3x knight army with daemons
Beating Gary every time we play
What do you enjoy most about the hobby?
Having fully painted armies.
Playing close games.
I am dating one of them.
What do you enjoy most about the club?
Having a great community to share the hobby with.
If you had a club nickname, what would you like it to be?
I don't think I'm popular enough to have a nickname. I do like to play the villain when it comes to banter and campaigns, so maybe Scrooge McFuckyou.
Who is top of your grudge list?
I'd relish beating Andrew in a singles game.
Joe remains my biggest club grudge though. It took me about 12 hours to get over our last game. I got up midnight after the game to check a rule to make sure I hadn't won by mistake. Thankfully warlords that commit suicide DO give you slay the warlord. That's how tight it was/is.
Games against Ross, Simon and Austin have a special place in my heart too. I NEVER like losing to those guys.
If you had any psychic power from the rule book and codexs, which one would you choose and why?
That old Ork power that turns a character into a squigg. Simon used it turn 1 of our first apoc game against Ross' tau warlord. It remains one of my fondest memories.
How do you feel about Tau?
After picking up 40k properly about 4/5 years ago I learned my trade playing nids against Ross' tau. We had countless, countless brutal battles. It instilled in me a sense of loathing so powerful that I am able to focus the dark energy and literally warp matter. Fuck Tau.
What is your favourite game mechanic and why?
Tactical Cards. These fuckers changed the game in all the right ways for me. I still get pissed off when people say they don't like them. They have made the game MORE.
If you were God-Emperor of Mankind for the day, what would you do?
Sit in my chair humming the batman theme.
What is it like to be an All Scar?
As a committee dude I'm loving seeing all the new members, the Monday night thing taking off thanks to the ginger wookie, and people's reception of our latest tournament pack. The painting pages are awesome, and of course the people are magic. It's pretty sweet.
