The combined forces of the Imperium, Eldar and Tau were destroyed in the Vordrast Incursion. Only the Necrons of Extremis remain. Will they suffer the same fate as the Crusaders of Light or save the Tomb World from destruction?
The spires of Vordast Extremis were undamaged and became a safe refuge for inhabitants of other hives across the planet. The subterranean caves within the snowy peaks, which surrounded the hive, enabled the population to increase beyond the capacity figures outlined in the hives blueprints. As thousands of refugees were escorted by Steiner's men by foot and convoy to safety, the Adeptus Mechanicus in an attempt to extract additional energy to maintain the replimats and hab units for the refugees tapped into an ancient power source.
A power source which would ultimately kill every inhabitant inside the hive, including Commander Steiner's wife and children. Despite Steiner's act of revenge, the systematic extermination the Necron's former C'tan masters once called 'Red Harvests' reaped the blood of millions. With all the citizens exterminated and the hive razed to the ground, the pyramidal spires of the Legion of Shadows glowed red with rage.
Newly erected pylons, surrounding the tomb complexes of Extremis, have dispersed the primordial energies of the Empyrean preventing Vordrast being swept back into the Immaterium from whence the planet came. This affect has not gone unnoticed by the Traitor Legions and Inquisitor Tobias, servant of the Golden Throne.
"Why should I assist you?" said Overlord Ra gripping the hilt of his warscythe ready to execute the infidel for his impertinence.
"With the Arch-Fiend Abaddon despoiling the Punic System, your survival just as much depends on ours now!" Tobias explained coldly holding a holo device displaying the imminent Warp Storm to encompass the entirety of the galaxy from the Eye of Terror.
Ra's grip loosened and Tobias had his answer.
