Yesterday we outlined the importance of the Hive City of Extremis on the planet Vordrast. If you missed it click here to catch up.
"Only a fool trusts a Be'lakor. He is made of the very stuff of change, the raw madness of the Warp made manifest. However, like men, Be'lakor is a creature of greed, pride and arrogance, and these are things I trust completely."
Although Be'lakor First-Hand motives remained hidden behind a veil of secrets and lies, he was a powerful ally for the Despoiler until a flicker of truth revealed itself from the shadows. Offering the world to the Four Gods of the Chaos pantheon, angered Abaddon who had planned to use the world as a means of reaching Terra. The energies of the warp writhing through the Vordrast System were now too unstable for the Warmaster of Chaos to risk his entire fleet.
How ironic that two networks of Necrontyr pylons would determine Abaddon's fate! While destroying the pylons in the Punic System to unleash the Crimson Path from the Eye, the Arch Fiend desired the destruction of the pylons in Vordrast to vanquish the very same energies he intended would engulf Terra. He ordered his remaining forces on Vordrast to travel the icey roads to Extremis to break the planet's tether to the materium. This would not only send the planet back to the warp but defeat his rival as Be'lakor's Daemon Army would lose there hold in the materium.
